Better colon health with fiber

Posted in Uncategorized

Fiber of both types (soluble and insoluble) slows down the rate at which we metabolize food – a crucial factor in balancing our blood sugar. Fiber also speeds our food’s progress through the digestive tract and performs a colon cleanse, so that it doesn’t sit in our stomachs, intestines or colon, breeding toxins and creating the problems we’ve just discussed.

Unfortunately, most of us are eating far too little fiber – an average of less than 22 grams a day. Yet a high-fiber diet is probably the best colon cleanse as it has been shown to help prevent heart disease, diabetes, diverticular disease and obesity and is vital for a detox colon cleanse.

Because the colon is my favorite organ, I’ve always stressed the importance of fiber, which is a centerpiece of a healthy diet and a healthy detox diet – and is one of the easiest homemade colon cleanse treatments you can get. We’ve understood for a long time that fiber speeds digestion and elimination, slows metabolism and helps us feel fuller and more satisfied from the food we eat.
