By reducing the total body mass by burning the percentage of fat on the body we can achieve a healthy and attractive fit body, exposing muslces such as abs, this can improve fitness and general health, and in addition peoples appearance can be improved or honed, such as six pack abs. Weight loss in individuals who are overweight or obese, can decrease the likelihood of developing diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and certain types of cancer and is a positive health objective. Weight loss occurs when the body is consuming more energy (i.e. in work and heat) than it is gaining (i.e. from food or other nutritional supplements). In this condition the body will use stored reserves from fat or muscle, gradually leading to weight loss. Attention to diet is essential in achieving significant weight loss and in particular can be extremely beneficial in reducing the impact of diabetes and other health risks. It is not uncommon for some people who are currently at their ideal body weight to seek additional weight loss in order to improve athletic performance, however, others may be driven by achieving a more attractive body image.
